This weekend

Gentlemen,

This weekend, as previously mentioned, our entire ultimate program will be traveling to Milwaukee, WI for a tournament called No Wisconsequences. We will be leaving friday afternoon/evening and will be returning to East Lansing sunday night. Both teams will be playing in this tournament, so we need EVERYONE to come out and ball.

If you are a new player and have already e-mailed me about being on the team, thank you and I’m sorry i’ve been taking so long to respond. Please send me another email with your name and phone number if you can go this weekend and if you have a car and can drive. This is very important since I need to set up rides to get to Milwaukee. Remember, drivers don’t pay for gas, so that will save you some money if that is an issue for you.

What to bring:

Cleats
Socks x 2 pairs
Two Dark shirts
Two White shirts
Shorts/athletic pants
Under Armor/layers/warm stuff (high is 46 degrees saturday)
Gloves
Hats
Discs
Water Bottles
Fruit or snack food.
Sleeping bags/pillows (Bed space in hotels is limited, and we will probably only get 3-4 rooms to save money).
Cash – $75ish (you probably won’t spend it all).

What to do after finishing this e-mail:

Send me back an email with your name, your phone number, and where you live if you can come. If you can drive, please include that information as well. This will be a FANTASTIC opportunity to learn a ton and show off what you’ve learned. We will be going as an A team and a B team, but the A team will be bringing over players to play in a game to show us what you’re made of. We will be traveling together and staying in the same rooms, however. Get hype.

A team, just email me if you can’t come – I already know about Dagher and Sheep.

Football Parking

After discussing Football Parking, we have decided that ALL proceeds that you earn from football parking will be returned directly to you. As in, you personally will receive all of the money the team received from your work. The team will not get any percentage of the funding. USE THIS AS AN OPPORTUNITY, if you don’t have a job, to make some extra money so you can pay for tournaments in the future, that’s what it’s for.

This Week

MEN A:

Practice this week will be a bit more intense. Today, we will have practice at the normal time regardless of weather/rain conditions. Thursday will be normal as well.

There will be practice FRIDAY EVENING, starting at 5pm.

Saturday, there is a tailgate at the Meadowlands, 447 charles, starting at 5am and running till about 10:30am.

Sunday, we will have dual practices, the first starting at 11am at Service. Following this practice, we will go to IHOP for lunch and reconvene at the fields for an afternoon practice, time TBD.

(Friday and Sunday practice is Invite Only).

If you are interested in coming to watch sectionals this weekend, please send an e-mail to weston.laabs@gmail.com. It’s only an hour and a half away in Kalamazoo and you can see a lot of great competition, hang out with the team, toss the disc on the sidelines, etc.

Football Parking Incentives

There are 4 more home football games. Talk to Zigs about getting involved with parking. Since you are getting up early, you are going to be rewarded. Every game you work, you will directly receive 50% of that money in the form of reduced team dues. For example, if you work and the team gets $50, then your team dues will be reduced by $25. This way, the team benefits, but the people who actually work benefit the most and don’t get swept under the rug.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. From now on, on non-tournament sundays there will be mandatory practice for All returning A team members. Invite only.

2. 9/25-9/26 is Club Sectionals. Because this tournament requires a UPA membership (which would take a year of eligibility and about $30, it is reserved for returning players. However, the tournament is the closest of the year (Kalamazoo, MI), so all new players are welcome to hitch a ride out with us to watch some higher level play. Since we’ll be coming back at night, you can choose to come to one or both days to watch.

3. Sunday, 10/4: Alumni double practice. A group of alumni are coming into town for the game and are treating us to a skillset practice and scrimmage. Practice times are TBD, but there will likely be TWO practices sunday, separated by a nice trip to IHOP, where Schmidty will pound a lot of maple syrup.

4. 10/11 – 10/12 is Club Regionals in South Bend, IN. Our region gets 3 bids to regionals, so keep this weekend clear until we know what happens at Sectionals.

4. No Wisconsequences, a tournament in Milwaukee, WI on 10/17-10/18 is coming up. We have two teams attending. A team/B Team or X/Y have yet to be decided. Please mark your calendars – we are trying to get as many people as possible to attend. Start selling your Northwestern football tickets.

ALSO: Mandatory team meeting tonight at the Jungle (717 W Grand River) tonight at 8:30pm for returning players.
